About Dr. Rohit Nayyar

Dr. Rohit has an 18+ year of dynamic career in surgical oncology, taking oncology care to peripheral centers and Formulating & developing strategy to control the spread of disease by highlighting healthy lifestyle and focus on healthy living & eating habits. He is skilled in in Head & Neck Malignancies, Breast Cancer and Thoracic & Esophageal Malignancies and has a very comprehensive knowledge of surgical methods and medicines. He has performed more than 1000 marginal and partial mandibulectomies for oral cavity tumors and has pioneered organ conservative surgery in Head & Neck Cancers, Breast cancer and Limb Salvage surgeries for bone and soft tissue tumors.

Dr. Arun ha a substantial teaching experience at institutes such as The Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute, Ahmedabad as Junior Lecturer- Department of Oncology wherein he played a key role in training M.S. (General Surgery), M.D.S. (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) and M.Ch.(Onco Surgery) students. He has served as Principal Investigation for Multinational Clinical Trial on Metastatic soft tissue sarcoma, EFC 10145 study (2008) and as a Co-investigator in trials for Management of Breast Cancer (2007-2009). He has been a part of various conferences as a speaker, presenter and panelist such like giving a talk on Recent Advances in Head & Neck Cancer – An Overview at IMA, Faridabad Haryana (2004), serving as a panelist in a discussion on Prevention of Head & Neck Malignancies at National Cancer Congress, organized by Dharamshila Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Delhi (2003) and many more. He has several publications to his credit such as Pulmonary Chondroid Hamartoma – A case report and review of literature in Gujarat Medical Journal, Analysis of Surgical Treatment & Five Year Follow Up of Oesophageal Cancer – Institutional Experience in Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute Bulletin, Intra-parotid Facial Nerve Malignant Schwannoma AND Implantable Ports in Paediatric Oncology Patients in Apollo Medicine Journal – to name a few.

Dr. Arun has attended various training programs as part of professional enhancements such as Training program for Sentinel Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer at Institute Gustave-Roussy, France, Training in Head & Neck Oncology Services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA and more. He continues to serve the society by actively participating in various social welfare activities like Cancer detection camps and health education along with Cancer Patient Aid Association in Delhi & NCR Region, Home Palliative Care for cancer patients of Apollo Cancer Institute, etc.
