About Padmashri Dr. Jitendra Kumar Singh

Dr. Jitendra is the Director at S.S. Hospital& Research Centre and PARAS Cancer Centre in Patna and has also served as the director of Mahavir Cancer Institute, Patna in the past. He is a renowned cancer specialist of National and International repute with over 25 years of experience in the field of medicine and Radiotherapy.

Dr. Jitendra has been affiliated with the Bihar Government and Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai) in the past and also has a teaching experience of over 10 years as a Senior Faculty at the Radium Institute, Patna Medical College, Bihar. He has 116 publications in National & International journals to his credit and has also contributed in 6 Oncological Books. As a Principal Investigator, he has successfully conducted 46 National & International Clinical Trial till date. He is the immediate Past National Vice-President of Indian Medical Association, Delhi (HQ) and also a Member of Task Force of ICMR, Govt. of India. Along with being conferred the conferred the “PADMASHRI Award", in the year 2012, by the Government of India, for his outstanding contribution in the field of Oncology, he has also been a recipient of several other National & International Awards.

Currently, Dr. Jitendra has been an active member of various mega associations of the country in the capacity of a National President of Indian Society of Oncology, Cancer Care India, Indian Society of Hyperthermic Association, Indian Brachytherapy Society (Immediate past President) and the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (Bihar), in the capacity of a National Secretary in the Breast Cancer Foundation, India and in the capacity of a Chairman in Ethics Committee, PARAS HMRI Hospital (Pvt) Ltd., Ethics Committee, KURJI Hospital, Cancer Research Centre, S.S. hospital (in-charge) – Patna and Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, CPCSEA, Govt. of India. He also has 7 mega projects of the Govt. of India ongoing under his chairmanship. His endeavour in facilitating cancer treatment in Bihar and the neighbouring states (Eastern India) have been widely appreciated as he has given a new shape in the aspects of Cancer Management & care in the said region.
