Dr. Hemendra is a very renowned oncologist with over 20 years of experience in the field. He is currently practising at Aaruni Hospital in Kalawad Road, Rajkot as the Director and Senior Radiation Oncologist. He has gained extensive experience working at many different hospitals through his career like Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, B P Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Nepal (helped in starting the post graduate Radiotherapy curriculum in Nepal and formation of National Cancer Guidelines) and Hemalata Hospitals Bhubaneshwar, Orissa as Head of the Radiation Oncology Department (started the first IMRT/IGRT radiation treatment technique in the state of Orissa).
Dr. Arun is on the editorial board and is a reviewer for various National and International Cancer Journals is an examiner attached with Dharamsinh Desai University and his centre is recognised by AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Govt Of India) for Medical Physics training/internship. He has a keen interest in head and neck cancers, CNS tumours and Prostatic cancers and is the co-ordinator of the tumour board at his hospital for the last 10 years. He offers a number of medical services including General check-up, diagnosis and treatment, Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS), Brachytherapy (Internal Radiation Therapy), External Beam Radiation for Prostate Cancer, Adaptive radiotherapy, Image Guided Radio Therapy (IGRT), Intensity Modulated Radio Therapy (IMRT) and many more.
Dr. Hemendra continues to contribute to the field of medicine and radiotherapy and is a member of various societies including the Indian College of Radiation Oncology (the national committee for formation of national cancer guidelines formed by the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India), Indian College of Radiation, Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncologists, Neuro-oncology Society of India, Gujarat Society of Head and Neck Oncologists, etc.
